Accidental Target Shopping

I probably shouldn't be allowed to shop at Target but that's a different post for another day. Really, I have a serious self control problem there. That's not just me, right? Target is the perfect place for "accidental" shopping (buying things you had absolutely no plan of getting), probably because you can get 104892076 different things there. You go in for something simple, 20 other things catch your eye. It's not just me, right? Right?! Let's move on. On a recent Target outing a couple of things caught my eye/jumped in my cart:

It's leather. And zippers. Do I really need to explain this?
Ok, admittedly this was cuter in the display picture. And Jared told me it was too flashy, or too... something, I don't know, he knows me and knows telling me not to get something means it's coming home with me so whatever. I kinda just like looking at it...

I didn't get these, I just tried them on, but I couldn't figure out how to wear them so I put them back. Self restraint, is that you? If one of you can give me even one possible cute way to wear these, I'll be back at Target before the day is over. Not even kidding. I don't understand these, but they intrigue me.

There might have been some more randomness at Target, but this was the blog-worthy stuff. Tell me about some accidental shopping you've done lately. Extra points if you're guilty of this happening at Target, too!

I was featured over on Modly Chic yesterday, so go check that out if you haven't already :)

I live .5 yes that's 1/2 mile from a Target. Accidental shopping kills me there. Especially when there is a wine display next to checkout.

And I saw Arm Warmers on a girl in Philly. Fell in love. She had grey ones over a black basic long sleeve tee with a short sleeve chunky cardigan. Sound weird I know but I promise. Cuteness.

I have such a problem any time I enter a Target, I swear. I go needing concealer and leave with a Slip 'n' Slide. Do I understand this? No. But I've decided it's easier to just embrace it...

I used to live across the street from a Target and I would ride my bike there (for exercise right?) all the time. It's the devil!

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!
Target is my favorite (and my bank account's least favorite) place to shop. I've said it once and I'll say it again ... if given only one place to shop for the rest of my life Target would be my choice.

Headed to check your feature now, superstar!

get the arm warmer! Put them over a long sleeved sweater, of the same or like color, and sort of bunch it up a little at the wrist.

Haha for the arm warmers I think you just stick your thumb in the small hole and the rest of your fingers are out. I also do a lot of accidental shopping at Target and Forever 21. lol and a ton of accidental shopping at any grocery store haha

i am totally, completely the same way. it's the 'target trap.' and i have to go there on my lunch hour today. eeep...

hmmm i debated whether i should tell you how i wear my arm warmers (i don't wanna be a bad influence). but how i wear them is pretty goofy, so maybe you'll just be all "oh, so glad i didn't get those!"
it doesn't get like mind numbingly freezing out here, so sometimes i wear just a down vest instead of a real coat. i use the arm warmers when i want to wear said vest with a short sleeve or three quarter top. just a little something extra to ward off minor chills. i'm sure i look silly, but once i get inside, i can just take said arm warmers off and am much more comfy than those suckers lugging around a full on winter parka. (seriously people. no snow means you dont' have to parka up!) :P

This is the story of my life when I go to Target. I find myself bringing home random glitter pens from the dollar section, Chex mix, candy and gum in bulk, etc. It never ends. I try to limit my Target trips, but it's hard to do. I love your new gloves!

That always seems to happen to me when I'm at Target-I end up leaving with a DVD of a movie from the 90's, cokes in glasses bottles and a new beauty product, regardless of what I was actually looking for!

I accidentally buy stuff all the time at Target! Isn't that the point? You go in for 2 things and walk out having spent $100! Yeah, it's a regular thing with me, and it's always random crap! Love your new purchases! I've been contemplating a pair of leather target gloves, and I really should just buy them already! I mean come on...there like $20! Yours are really cute with the zipper detail!

These shops do it on purpose! they put little eye-catching accessories when you are most likely to notice them and jump into the purchase!
H&M is the same for me - the little glittery make-up so close to the counter, how can I resist it? ;)

Love your new purchases!

Too cute for words. We don't have a target here in NYC...well one near where I live so I always have to wait for my journey's out of the city to hit them up. And boy do it hit them up! I just happened to be right next to one today in NJ and I restrained myself from going in. I'm a bit sad that I skipped it but my wallet is happy :)

I am head over heels for those gloves! Target is definitely one of those stores for me too - they always have EVERYTHING you didn't know you needed, and it's so tempting!

Hilarious, Katie! I agree that there needs to be a Target anonymous. I am the same way when it comes to that store. There is just no in & out. I love that hat. Anything Mossimo gets me. Funny that I never would have said that back in the 80s.

I TOTALLY have this problem too! I drove a friend to Target this weekend and didn't even need anything for myself and wound up with a sweater and a plaid shirt!!

Target is a dangerous place! I'm banning myself from going in there for the next few weeks! They had out all their Christmas makeup gift sets and I went bananas!
I think you could wear those warmers with the 3/4 sleeve coats if you have any. lol
