Getting Ready Fast

I don't think any of us don't have days where we aren't pressed for time. Be it work, or school, or trying to get a house full of people ready, or if you're me just not feeling great - everyone has a reason why they can't always spend a lot of time getting ready in the mornings. There's a ton of things you can do about this, but here are my top 3 tips to getting ready fast but still looking good:

Dry Shampoo

I've mentioned this before but the more I use it, the more I love it. TIGI Rockaholic is still my go-to, but use whatever is your favorite. It takes some getting used to, but everything you hear about dry shampoo is true. You can skip washing your hair with it. Your hair really DOES start to look good when it's not squeaky clean. It'll hold any style better. Of course this isn't indefinite - you DO have to wash your hair eventually of course, but you can save some serious time with this.

Sunglasses (AKA Victoria Beckham is right - they do hide a multitude of sins)
weheartit
I've said it before and I'll say it again - fix your hair (and the first tip addresses what to do about that), skip or put on minimal makeup, and slap on a big pair of sunnies. They're classic, they're glamorous, no one will see how tired you look - oh, just do it.

Mix High and Low
weheartit

What do I mean buy mix high and low? Well most people can't dress head to toe in designer duds - I know I can't. Even if you could, a lot of times that looks forced and doesn't show any real sense of style, in my opinion anyway. Focus on one or two key items, for me it's usually my bag or shoes and make those as nice as possible. Your whole look will immediately look more polished and put together no matter how much you paid for it.

Ok, so those are my top tips for getting ready fast. What are yours?

Check out my Facebook page! If you already have - thank you!

I haven't tried dry shampoo yet. But I want too. I totally agree about the mixing high end with lower end clothes. I try and do that too.

I'm with you on all of these - haven't tried the dry shampoo yet, but it's on my list. The sunnies and the high/low - all the way lady. These days it's little more low than high. eeps!!

I totally agree with you with the bag and shoes! Another thing I can´t live without is my rouge/blush. Makes one look fresh even tho the night was short.

I need dry shampoo. I'm the event manager at work, so we have a lot of evening gatherings. I always spend time in the morning getting ready for the long day, but by 3 p.m. my hair has flopped. I need something like this to reinvigorate it.

(And I definitely think today's recipe is easy enough for you to make! Just slice veggies, roast them, add pasta and cheese. Viola! A go-to side dish for me is to just chop up sweet potatoes, toss them with olive oil, salt and pepper. Then put them in the oven for an hour at 375. They turn out perfectly soft and they taste much more decadent than they are!)

I don't think I could live without my dry shampoo-such a time saver! Although to be honest, I can get in and out of the house in 20 minutes, with time for breakfast! My biggest secret is planning an outfit in advance so that you don't have to waste time staring into the depths of your closet!

dry shampoo is my saviour x

kelli g. { bug miscellany } said...

oooh! i've long been interested in finding a good dry shampoo.

my timesaver is having my closet arranged by color. that way i always know where 'that red sweater' is. (or where it isn't, which is far more likely since i'm total crap at doing laundry!)
