Uggs

weheartit

Ok, I'm prepared to face the backlash - I want a pair of Uggs. I know they're made fun of, I know they're passe, I know I made fun of my sister for buying a pair (I'm sorry, they looked like they were being strangled by a sweater. But she loves them and they look cute on her so good for her!) Anyway that's all besides the point. I've wanted a pair for years so I think this year I'm finally going to go for it. I want a pair of Classic Tall and I think I want them in Chocolate:
Ok, so give me your thoughts, and if you own Uggs, tell me what I need to know. Is Chocolate a good color, or should I go with Chestnut? Do I need to buy the cleaner? Best place to buy them or get a discount?

Let me know!

OMG- Katie!!!! You need to get on board! Don't hesitate for a second. Personally, I think Uggs are adorable but beyond that- they are the comfiest things in the ENTIRE world. I have 4 active pairs and have laid to rest a couple that I ran into the ground. I love them more than anything. Seriously, the warmest, best shoe in the world, I get so excited when the weather turns and I can wear them again! I usually ask for a new pair every christmas and have started to scout which ones I want now. I will say a few things... 1) Color doesn't really matter, what do you like? I have camel, brown and 2 black pairs. 2) If i were you, I would go a little taller than the classic tall just because you end up rolling them down (well at least I do), so I can have the rolled or unrolled look and it looks different either way. 3) Get the cleaner! They're an investment, I wear mine every year. 4) I don't know about on sale or not... I would just find some you love and pay full price, rarely would I say that I believe in Uggs! best wishes!

Brace yourself for greatness. Ever since I face planted that time outside of church and gagged on the way down from the twisted ankle that could then only fit in an UGG I have been on board. Ignore the haters. Hit them with your boot. There will come a day when they, too, will become arthritic or freezing or sprained and UGG will be their only friend. I have worn out 4 pairs. I currently have (all in tall) - 2 pairs of sand, a pair of chestnut and a knit sweater cardi pair in ivory (best ever scrunch them down and they are amazing). I go back and forth between the other 3 pairs continually because they each of a special place in my heart. I don't use cleaner, but if you get snow you might want to spray them. That's it. I'm getting another pair. Did you see the ones with the buttons up the side?? SO CUTE. The landlord's wife walked by in them the other day and I almost ripped them off her feet. RESTRAINT Carrie, RESTRAINT.

You won't be sorry. Unless you purchase Jimmy Choo for UGG (chugg) - in which case I will come over and rid you of those bedazzled atrocities. Otherwise, make haste Katie.

Can I get this thing published?

xoxo,
Carrie

I go back and forth. I love them, I hate them.LOL! I own a pair in Chestnut (tall) and they go with everything. But I mostly save them for early morning jobs (when I really want to show up in pj's), an early trips to starbucks, cold days when I'm running errands, or just kicking around the house. Basically I reserve them for anything uber casual. Beyond that, I try a little harder and wear real boots.

They're great to have though Katie. I don't regret buying them, one little bit! I don't clean mine either, but we don't really have weather here.

Hope that helps you decide.

I know nothing about this type of boots, I am a boot lover, but the climat I live in ( south Spain) is far too warm even in winter.

You know, as much as I frown upon them, I bet they really are the most comfy thing ever. And when you're looking for a cozy winter boot, comfort (and warmth) is king. Long live the Ugg!

i love my uggs! i have a pair in camel color, the classic talls. sometimes i wish i had a darker pair, because mine get really dirty easily so they need to be cleaned pretty frequently depending on how often i wear them.

GET THE CLEANER!! You will be glad you did later.

I personally think uggs are adorable. I have tall and the original short ones in a variety of colors and absolutely adore them! You MUST get a pair

You're too cute! Go for it, sweetie. I don't own a pair and last year I almost caved in and bought them because I was travelling quite often to Minnesota for work in the winter. Burrr! But I didn't get them because the timing wasn't right. Who knows what this year will have in store for me. Ignore the haters though and just go for it. I hear they're amazing and the comfiest things you'll ever own.

Happy Monday! xoxo

i own a pair of classic tall in chesnut...love them...they are super comfy! i bought mine at nordstroms and had my aunt mail them to me in canada because for some strange reason uggs cost around $300 in canada. WTF?!

Krystal said...

I was against them too but bought a pair of knockoffs for $20 to calm my freezing feet...BEST DECISION EVER - they got me through the winter with warm feet - although...getting them wet was another thing entirely. I'm definitely going to be asking for a real pair this year for xmas because they are that comfortable that it outweighs their negatives :)

I don't have any Uggs, but every time cold weather comes around, I'm wishing for a pair! I don't know how many winters I can get through without them! It gets so cold here!

Jeni said...

Can I recommend getting the Costco version of Uggs? My pair of Uggs fell apart rather quickly when (surprise!) a few storms hit California, but my Kirkland brand Uggs have held up through two seasons of wet weather (and a trip to the snow). It has a thicker sole, which keeps my feet dryer, and is possibly just as comfy as real Uggs are.

Robbie said...

I know they may look the most stylish item of footwear but nothing beats them when the weather is cold and all you want are to keep your tootsies warm. Sometimes comfort comes over style, although personally I have some chocolate short ones and love them!
Great blog, would love you to visit mine if you have the chance.

I'll be the first to say that I'm usually the anti-Uggs queen, but they are comfortable. I'll give them that much credit. So I judge if you give in....sometimes comfort and warmth out weigh everything else.

Katie, don't even worry about it. I have to trek well over a mile to some of my classes and it is hardly fun in the winter -- my (okay, faux) Uggs are actually my saviors.

someone else just wrote about uggs. i don't mind them if they look good, but i think there was an ugg overload a couple years ago--especially of people wearing them when it was still hot outside.

I think you should absolutely go for it. I think they're adorable! I don't own any, mostly because it doesn't get very cold here and my feet are always hot. But if I lived in a place with cold winters, I'd have at least a few pair of them. Let us know what you decide!

i don't think uggs are necessarily passe.... i mean there are things that i don't like... like when girls wear them with mini skirts, but other than that i don't dislike them. i think they run a tad big... and i like the darker color you have chosen, not as popular :)

pancakeSTACKER said...

I loveeee UGGS! They're absolutely necessary for comfort! I would go with the regular Chestnut color, personally. I had a pair of black Sunshine boots (I'm lucky enough to fit in their kid's size, which saved me some money!), and while I loved them, the black color faded after a bit. After a few years, the zipper on mine finally broke. I can't wait to get a new pair!

Stop by again soon!

I have the short black version of them! I used to love them, they are actually quite comfy and warm...but for some reason I cannot wear them anymore...which is a pity! anyway, I think you should own a pair of Huggs once in your life... :)

Buy them! I hated them for a while and broke down and bought a pair a few years ago and I adore them! I don't care what anyone says they are super warm and super cozy. I have a classic tall pair. I love that they are grab and go - just throw them on and go. You won't regret it!

They are sooooo cozy! I held out until earlier this year, as well - but couldn't resist. I have classic talls in bomber leather so I think the chocolate color is perfect. I got the best price at cozyboots.com!

I love my Uggs! I'm so happy you're jumping on board too! I think chocolate is definitely the better color if you're considering that or the plain chestnut. I actually have a chestnut pair but they have the Ugg logo scrawled all over them which gives them a little something extra :)

I live in Hawaii and I own a pair of uggs (Tall in chestnut)... I know they're meant to keep your feet warm and then def do, but they also keep your feel surprisingly cool on warm days. Weird huh. I love them.. and yes, definitely get a protectant. I think it's like $10. My hubby got my pair at The Walking Company, but if you don't have that store available near you, check out Nordstrom.. they normally have a wide range in stock!!
