Perfume Tip

Ok, we all I know I love perfume. But have you ever wondered what to do with those little perfume samples you get? I don't know about you, but I accumulate quite a few (3 free samples with every Sephora order, people), and they're not easy to store or use - so what to do with them?
Easy answer. Use the sample on 1 or 2 cotton balls then place the cotton balls inside a dresser drawer to make your clothes smell nice. They last for weeks, sometimes a couple of months - and nothing goes to waste! :)

Nail Polish Organization & My Fall Picks

Well, I talked about all the fall nail polishes - so what did I end up getting?
These.
Chanel Paradoxal and Particuliere (not part of their fall collection, but I did get them recently)
Sephora by OPI in Dating the Drummer and I'm Already Famous
Essie Velvet Voyeur
OPI in Glitzerland and Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous

Love them all! I also got 2 Butter London nail polishes recently that I'm obsessed with - but more on those another time. I have a drawer in the bathroom for all my nail stuff, but it had turned into a disorganized mess lately. All the new acquisitions didn't help, so something had to be done. Here's what I came up with:
It's not perfect, but I'm happy with it. Just a LITTLE wider and you could fit 3 across in each section which would create so much more storage. It works though. I got this from Target, it was less than $10. All my nail polishes are in the holder, my Sephora by OPI Chic Prints are in the back, the metallic box is holding some random nail files and buffers, the red thing is a nail kit with various tools, and the yellow bag holds all my favorite nail things - files, buffers, cuticle pen, etc.
Better view of all the nail polish
Mini polishes
Essie
Chanel and Butter London
Base/topcoats and glitter polishes
Sephora by OPI
OPI
More OPI. (My favorite - can you tell? They're the best!)

Ok, so that's my new nail polishes and my organization. If you follow me on Twitter, you've heard about the lip product organization debacle - hopefully I'll have a post showing you how that's been redone soon. Also, I've done my Accessory Organization post in the past if you want to see that. If there's something else you'd like to see, let me know in the comments!

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

My new favorite skincare product is Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. You put it on before you go to sleep and it literally works overnight. It's made for all skin types and doesn't irritate sensitive skin - definitely a plus for me. Before bed, after you've washed and moisturized your face, apply a dab of lotion directly on the breakout using a cotton swab. Don't rub in. Let it dry and rinse off in the morning. DO NOT shake the bottle and apply only the pink sediment on the skin. Easy enough, right? I've only been using this about a week but I can already tell a huge difference. You can see an improvement when you wash it off in the morning! LOVE this stuff!

What's your favorite skincare product? Have you tried this or anything from Mario Badescu?

Football Fashion

Well, geez. Yesterday was a tough day for a lot of football fashionistas, wasn't it?
Most of you know I'm a University of Alabama graduate and a lifelong Crimson Tide fan. No, I'm not exaggerating.:
That's right. Rockin' the Bama fashion since 1983.
Now, I know I'm not the only blogger who also loves her football. Kristin at BonBon Rose Girls is a Florida fan, Josie at With a Wink and a Smile goes to Notre Dame and cheers on the Fighting Irish, Caitie at Candyfloss & Persie pulls for Oregon, Kayla at Ramblings of A Small Town Girl is a Texas girl, and Elle at Elle Sees roots for Georgia. Now in Tuscaloosa, football fashion means lots of crimson, white, and houndstooth. Walking around on game days and seeing what everyone is wearing is one of my favorite things to do. Bama girls (and guys!) take the fashion very seriously and I love it. August, our dog, has his own personalized jersey, as well as an Alabama sweater, plus his houndstooth collar and leash for football season. Yeah - it even extends to the pets!

What team do you root for and what's the football fashion like? I'm curious!

What I'm Loving...

Happy Friday! How was everyone's week? Any big plans for the weekend? Let me know :)
Here's what I'm loving:

Halloween Tutorials
It's not secret I love watching makeup tutorials on YouTube. Well, my favorite time of year has started - Halloween tutorials. I don't know why I love watching these so much, but I do. This look Michelle Phan did last year was my favorite. If vampires didn't creep me out, I'd totally re-create this look. But they do.

YSL Rouge Volupté
Do I need another expensive makeup product to be addicted to? Don't answer that. These are beautiful, gorgeous, silky - did I mention I'm addicted? I have 1 (Nude Beige), 26 (Tender Peach), and 17 (Red Muse) so far, and I'd happily buy more but they're YSL so they're a little pricey. I'll just enjoy my tiny collection... for now :)

Fall TV Shows

This has been premiere week, so most of the network TV shows are back. For a TV addict (like myself) this is a good thing! Very happy to have my TV shows back, but I've lost a couple this year - like LOST and Nip/Tuck. Sadness. What shows are you watching? I need to know - I might be missing out!

Wedding Pictures
As I posted on Twitter, Caroline and Jason's wedding pictures have posted! I've had a blast looking through them on SmugMug - now I just have to decide which ones I want. Caroline and Jason used the same wedding photographer Jared and I did - Lisa Marie and we've all loved her! Check out her work - she's amazing!

Ok, so that's What I'm Loving right now! What about you?

Shopping Your Closet... On Accident

This past Sunday I was getting ready, and I went in our closet to pick out some accessories and I came across this necklace. Not that weird - except that I had completely forgot I owned it. I've had it for probably a year. I think I've worn it once before, but I'm not sure. How could I have completely forgotten about it?! I got it at Forever 21 and I'm sure it cost less than $5. I'm mad I had forgotten about it!
Do you ever forget about things that you already own? Do you ever go to shop in your own closet and end up surprised?

Or is it just me?!

What I'm Wearing...

Shirt - BCBG Max Azria
Tank - GAP
Jeans - Old Navy
Shoes - BCBG Max Azria
Ring - Express
Earrings - Express
Boscia Tinted Moisturizer
NYX blush in Pinky
YSL 5 Colour Harmony For Eyes in 08 Midnight
CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion mascara
Chanel Glossimer in Brilliance

This is what I wore last Friday night for "Date Night" (side note: "Date Night" is almost always... uneventful. We went to dinner.. and I think that's it. Oh and stopped and got coffee on the way home. We're so exciting.) Anyway I REALLY wanted to wear heels but that's still not happening. I probably would have picked black shoes, but I jokingly told Jared to pick me out some and these were what we picked. I liked it, so I went with it. He did good :) The jewelry as I mentioned sometime was a buy 1 get 1 50% off at Express, then another 20% off with my card. Such a good deal I went back a few days later and got some more jewelry (and maybe a sweater dress. If it ever drops about 30 degrees, maybe I can actually wear it.) The earrings and ring are both great statement pieces - easy to throw on when you don't feel like putting a lot of effort into accessorizing.
As for the makeup I'm OBSESSED with the YSL eyeshadow. Love, love, love. I know YSL is expensive but it's such great quality. I've never been disappointed.

Still not feeling good lately, but it makes me feel better to focus on getting ready and looking cute sometimes. It takes longer than it used to with the lack of energy, but it's worth it. Not going to give that up.

I'm bored lately! Ask me something on formspring :)

Chanel Review

As I've mentioned before, one of my best friends Charli is a hair stylist. The salon she works for gets to do events with different makeup counters - like Chanel. Um hello, amazing job. I had lunch with her last week and had to meet her at the Chanel counter (oh darn). And she MADE ME try a new mascara (I'm not making this stuff up, people.) And she might have given me a lip gloss. (Have I mentioned how much I love her? Do. Love her.) When I went back later that afternoon to buy the mascara (you knew that was coming), look at all the free samples they threw in! The mascara and the lip gloss are in the middle - the rest are samples! Oh, it made my day.
The gloss is a Glossimer in Brilliance. I used to have a couple of Glossimer's and they're just as great as I remembered. I put it on right after lunch :)
The mascara is Inimitable in Noir Black. This is Chanel's newest mascara and it advertises to volumize, lengthen, curl, and separate. Sounds too perfect, right? Um, it is perfect. Like I said, Charli had the makeup artist put this on me at the counter before we went to lunch. I'm not kidding you - all afternoon I couldn't stop looking at my eyelashes. Every time I'd get back in my car I'd pull the visor down, lift up my sunglasses, and look again. My lashes looked amazing! You'd better believe I booked it back to the Chanel counter and bought this before I went home that afternoon.

What's the latest product you've fallen in love with? I want to know! :)

HauteLook Beauty Week

If you don't already know, HauteLook is another awesome site like RueLaLa or Gilt where you get amazing deals. Ok, you know how all those work I'm sure, but I got the best e-mail from HauteLook recently - September 20-24 is BEAUTY WEEK. Every day, all week, they're having sales on beauty brands! They have these from time to time and I'm always on the look out for them, so a whole week of them? I'm a happy girl.
Just a few I'm excited about? Stila Cosmetics, DDF Skincare, GO SMiLE, NYX Cosmetics... I could go on. There's a ton of different brands on sale each day this week. If you're not a member, click here and you can sign up with my link! If you already are a member, I don't know what you're waiting for.

Which sales are you excited about for Beauty Week? Let me know!

26

A couple of weeks ago when Jared and I finally had our belated staycation and anniversary celebration, we ate at 26. It was within walking distance of our hotel, and we'd both wanted to try it for awhile so it was an obvious choice. If you live in or around Birmingham, it's in Southside, right next door to Ocean, which is it's sister restaurant. (And is also on my list of places to try!)
It was delicious, we loved it, and we definitely want to go back!

What I'm Loving...

It's finally Friday! What a week. Jared has been out of town on business, so I've been handling the house and the dog solo, and today my parents leave on a 2 week trip to New England so I get Jared back AND we get Coco while they're gone, AND I have to go check on their house, plants, and mail daily. Ahh, the excitement of my... not exciting life. Anyway.
Here's what I'm loving:

Cocktail Rings
As I posted on Twitter, my cocktail ring was my favorite part of my game day ensemble last Saturday. Go figure, I put an outfit together and my favorite part is the $7 ring from Target. Whatever. I love it, and I'm developing a pretty serious cocktail ring addiction. Luckily for me and the bank account you can usually find them pretty cheap. My recent ones include this Target pretty, the shopthelook.net one I've mentioned a couple of times now, and I got a new one at Express about a week ago. (Which, by the way, Express had the usual by 1 get 1 for 50% off on their jewelry, PLUS another 20% off if you used your Express card. Very nice.)

Starsailor - In The Crossfire
This came on Alt Nation recently when Jared and I were in the car, and the lyrics caught my attention, so I turned it up a little. I kept doing that more and more, and by the time the song was over the radio was blaring, Jared was staring at me, and my eyes were welling up with tears because it was such a gorgeous song and I loved the words. Ok, and I'm weird and I just get like that sometimes. (It's been rough lately, what can I say?) I mean, look:
I don't see myself when I look in the mirror
I see who I should be
I don't see myself when I look in your eyes
Thank God for that

I don't see myself when I look cross the river
I see where I should be
I don't see myself when I look from the sky
Thank God for that

Beautiful, right? It ends with:

Trying to find some hope
From the ashes of their broken homes

I don't see myself when I look in the mirror

Trying to find some hope. Definitely something I'm relating to lately.

Fall Nail Polish Combinations
Yeah, I know, could I mention nail polish anymore lately? Well, probably. As mentioned on Twitter, I recently did my first fall mani/pedi. OPI's You Don't Know Jacques is on my toes and I've been obsessed with/blogging about it for a year. On my nails is Sephora by OPI in Already Famous with Only Gold For Me Top Coat layered on top of each ring finger. Gorgeous. All of them.

Well... you!
I don't know what to say except thank you. On here and in my regular life, I've been overwhelmed at all the love and support coming my way lately. I don't deserve it, I don't know why I'm lucky enough to have it, and don't think for a minute it goes unnoticed or unappreciated. Thank you.

Ok, so that's What I'm Loving right now! What about you?
