Black Friday Shopping

I don't dare brave the crowds on Black Friday, but I'm perfectly happy to do a little shopping from the comfort of my home. I didn't know what anyone wanted yet, so I just shopped for myself. Act surprised, ok? Express was offering the same deals online as in the store. 40% off everything, plus I had a $50 off code, plus I had a $25 gift card from MyPoints. How can you pass that up? (I didn't.) Look how well it worked out:

Price - $26.90
Sale Price - $16.14

Price - $29.90
Sale Price - $17.94

Price - $29.90
Sale Price - $17.94

(That's actually the color I got, apparently it's sold out now.)
Price - $49.90
Sale Price - $29.94

Price - $59.90
Sale Price - $35.94

Price - $69.90
Sale Price - $41.94

With no discounts, that's $266.40 worth of stuff. With the 40% off it was down to $159.84. $50 off code brought that down to $109.84 and my $25 from MyPoints got it down to...

$84.84.

For $266.40 worth of stuff! So yeah, I like Black Friday shopping. Online. For myself. What'd you get on Black Friday?

(Express is still having all kinds of deals and sales. Be sure to look for some codes then get on over there and get yourself some stuff. I mean, do some Christmas shopping. Yeah.)

Christmas List

Ok, yesterday was a Christmas Wish List (as much as I would LOVE it, I don't think a MacBook will be under my Christmas tree), but today let's get down to business. What do you want that you might really get? Here's my list:

whispers cross gold dipped necklace

It's Cyber Monday and I really want to take advantage of any great deals and hopefully get a lot of my shopping done today. Tell me about any you know of in the comments!

Christmas Wish List

The Christmas season has officially started which means lots of Christmas shopping. Of course most of that is for other people, but everyone still wants things for themselves, and I'll have a post up on that shortly, but today, let's have a little more fun. If you could buy anything, what would it be? No question here - I've been dying for a MacBook!

 What's on your wish list?

Happy Thanksgiving!

weheartit

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hope everyone is having a great day full of food, family and friends!
No matter what your plans are today, even if it's not a holiday wherever you are, take a little time and think of something that you're thankful for, something that makes you happy and brings you joy. I'll have a regular post up on Sunday. Enjoy the holiday weekend! :)

Hair Accessory Organization

Like I mentioned yesterday, the organizers I bought came with one in each set I couldn't fit in my vanity drawers. Luckily they did fit in the bathroom drawers, so now my hair accessories are much easier to find. Yay!

All 3 fit perfectly in the bathroom vanity drawer. It's like a sign or something.
Left - headbands
Middle - stretchy headbands, not plain ponytail holders (I sat here for 3 minutes and had no clue what to call those. That's what I came up with.), barrettes I think I got in kindergarten with my name on them. No, I don't wear them, but I found them years ago and thought they were funny so I never got rid of them. It's not like just anyone could wear them!
Right - round brush (stays in the drawer since it's not used everyday), wide tooth comb, ponytail holders, barrettes, mini hair claws, regular hair claws, bobby pins.

Yes, I have an organizing obsession. It is SO much easier to use what you have when you can see it and find it quickly! That might sound insanely obvious, but it took me awhile to figure it out...

Makeup Organization

I recently re-did my makeup storage so I figured why not show you because I like what I ended up with. This all started when I had Jared make me my storage for my lip products. The organizers came from Target. I got the idea from this YouTube video:

So yeah, same thing used there. I like them because you can stack them and move them around however you want. Here's how it turned out:

Top Left Drawer
In the back on the bottom in eye bases. Stacked in that one is concealers. In the middle is eyebrow products on the left and random stuff beside that. Mascaras are in the front. False lashes and a small mirror from a Benefit kit on the side.

Bottom Left Drawer
This is the eyeshadow drawer and it's obviously out of control. Eyeliner pencils in the back. In the middle there are glitter, kajal and liquid liners and cream shadows on the left and NARS duos on the right. In the front are various single eyeshadows, duos, trios and small palettes. Palettes that don't fit are on the side.

Bottom Right Drawer
Face products drawer. Benefit boxed powders and NYX blushes in the back, other blushes, highlighters, bronzer and Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks in the middle, foundations, primers, and powder in the front. Various things I couldn't make fit on the side.

The top right drawer is lip products.

I'm still playing around with it, but these are the most versatile organizers I've ever used for my makeup so I'm loving them. I bought 3 of the sets and each one came with one long organizer that wouldn't fit in my vanity drawers. I'll show you tomorrow how I ended up using those.

Yes, I know it's a lot of makeup. No need to point that out.

What I'm Wearing...

Shirt - Tucker for Target
Jeans - Old Navy
Boots - BCBGeneration
Earrings - Target
Ring - Target
Nail polish - Chanel Particuliere

I almost didn't put up this What I'm Wearing... post. The outfit is not that exciting. I look pretty rough. (I can't seem to learn my lesson so yet again, these were taken at 10:30 at night. Like I say - real life.) But, it is what it is. Some days, you wear a boring outfit. Some days, despite your best efforts, you can't seem to take an outfit picture when you're looking your best. Oh well, right? It is what it is, and this is what I was wearing.

Thanksgiving Traditions

weheartit

Thanksgiving is this week in the US and I'm sure we all have our own traditions. Thursday we'll do double Thanksgivings, first with Jared's family then with mine, Friday is the Iron Bowl so a big football day for us, Saturday we'll put up Christmas decorations, and I'm sure some of this will stretch into Sunday. I imagine most people's are similar, but I'm still curious - how do you spend the holiday, or the holiday weekend (since I know it stretches out for several days for a lot of people)? What's your favorite Thanksgiving food? Do you watch the parade?

Let me know all about it :)

What I'm Loving...

Happy Friday! How was everyone's week? All that medicine I had last week lead to my week getting off to a bumpy start but it's been better and now I'm feeling more like myself. Yay!
Here's what I'm loving:

Rose Gold
It started with the House of Harlow hoops I bought a few weeks ago and now it's just a full on obsession. Rose gold is GORGEOUS and I can't get enough of it. Expect more pieces to pop up soon.

 Miss Dior Cherie
A lot of you recommended this to me so I picked up a sample with some of my Sephora points recently. According to Sephora, it has: Green Tangerine, Violette, Pink Jasmine, Patchouli, Crystalline Musk, Strawberry Leaves, Caramelized Popcorn, Strawberry Sorbet. Yeah, it smells amazing. AMAZING.

Rihanna - Only Girl In The World

It's catchy, I can't stop humming it, and how stunning is the video? Hello, inspiration.

Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter
"A rich, luxuriously moisturizing Body Butter that's full of skin-loving naturals and infused with Pacifica's Tuscan Blood Orange, a delectable blend of juicy and spicy Blood Orange, subtle strawberry and raspberry notes, and fleshy mandarin." I got this because it was on sale for $5 at Sephora, and I pretty much immediately got another one. Why? Well, I need one in my purse, in my car, you get the idea...

Ok, so that's What I'm Loving right now! What about you?

Glossing Creams

One of my must have hair styling products is a glossing or finishing cream. For me, it's the final step when I'm straightening my hair and it's also a good touch-up on days where I'm re-styling my hair. Here are several I've used and my take on them:

Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Cream
What it is:
An antifrizz, shine-promoting finishing formula for all hair types.

What it does:
This superstar formula delivers shine-boosting olive oil spheres that create seriously soft, reflective shine for all-day-stunning strands.

What else you need to know:
The Glossing Collection uses breakthrough encapsulation technology to help deliver brilliantly reflective shine from root to tip, all day long.

 Price:
$23 for 4 oz

Oscar Blandi Pronto Gloss Instant Glossing Cream
What it is:
A glossing cream that delivers weightless shine to all hair types.

What it does:
So Shiny. So fast. So Pronto! Pronto Glossing Cream is the most versatile styling product you'll own. It delivers weightless shine to all hair types, while it simultaneously controls frizz and tames flyaways. A Keratin protein boost provides heat protection and a multi-UV shield prevents the color-depleting effects of the heat and sun. Cystine copolymers deliver a glossy, brilliant finish—making this cream everything your hair needs, in one tube.

What else you need to know:
DEA-free formula.

Price:
$19 for 4.2 oz

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Creme
What it is:
Exceptional crème, applied to dried hair, instantly transforms puffy, parched hair into a perfectly smooth, supple, shiny texture.

What it does:
Replaces natural oils lost to blow-drying and daily styling stress.
Works instantly on dry hair to camouflage imperfections by smoothing away dullness, puffiness and frayed split ends.
Immediately restores "silkening" moisture to "quench" parched hair.
Creates ultra-glossy, supple hair with an incredibly healthy-looking finish

What else you need to know:
Contains sunscreen.

Price:
$5.99 for 4 oz

Obviously John Freida wins for price here, hands down. Oscar Blandi wins for scent because I love it's lemon-y smell. As far as how they work? They all work the same in my experience, so my vote?
Save some cash.
