Aquamarine ("water of the sea") is March's birthstone. I absolutely love it. I think it's gorgeous and I love that it has a connection to water.
We're closing out Birthday Month around here. My sister flew in to town yesterday and we're celebrating her birthday today with my family. Once again, it's been a good birthday month and I think I've sufficiently convinced quite a few people that March is a pretty amazing month. You should definitely love it.

I love that aquamarine is such a light blue that it can almost be gray or clear. I'm kind of a non-flashy person so it's nice to be able to wear it. My mother bought me an aquamarine ring for my birthday :)
If I had the choice, I'd like pearls as a birthstone....or diamonds, they match everything. Aquamarine is perfect though.

I actually never realised how stunning aquamarine was before I went into the vaults at Milan's cathedral last year and checked out their church treasure. There were so many crosses and jewels made with aquamarine and I almost had to put my SHADES on, the stuff was so vivid and bright! :)
Love that you posted this. Being a March birthday gal myself, I never embraced aquamarine. I always wished it were a ruby... or garnet... something darker. Just like I always preferred silver over gold. Now, in my "older" (wiser) years, I've come to love both aquamarine... and gold. When's your birthday??
March is special to me since my mom & grandmother are born in it.

My birthstone is diamond...and I have always been pretty darn happy about that but my efforts to have people only buy me diamonds or diamond encrusted things for my birthday have been somewhat less than successful...

Glad you guys had such a fun weekend! My birth stone is (was) peridot (August birthdays get something else now which I don't believe in) and I've always loved it, even though it's hard to find!

Oh, mine is a sapphire. I used to hate it because it's dark blue and I like light, sparkly stones, but it's growing on me.
