Friend Friday
I recently joined the Fashion Beauty Friend Friday group created by Katy over at Modly Chic. Every week Katy puts together a set of questions and on Friday if you want to participate, you answer them on your blog and link back up at Modly Chic.

1. Do you think there is an incompatibility between feminism and a love for fashion?
Not at all. Feminism is believing in equal rights for women and I see absolutely no reason why that is incompatible with a love for fashion.
2. There is more to each of us than a love for fashion, how do you incorporate every aspect of yourself into your blog?
2. There is more to each of us than a love for fashion, how do you incorporate every aspect of yourself into your blog?
It's not always intentional, but the rest of my life usually pops up in the blog somehow. Dogs in my outfit pics, stories about Jared - most of it finds it's way in one way or another.
3. With the fashion industry still being a male-dominated profession, how do you think it would differ if women played a larger role?
3. With the fashion industry still being a male-dominated profession, how do you think it would differ if women played a larger role?
Almost every woman I know laments the fact that they can't go into many stores and find clothes that suit their particular body type. It seems to be an across the board issue for almost all women and body types because so many stores and brands seem to have not taken the fact that women are not a uniform size and shape into consideration. I think if more women were in all different areas of the fashion industry - from design, to marketing, to getting things to a mass-retail level, that would change to some extent.
4. How is your self-image and the way you carry yourself informed by your beliefs?
4. How is your self-image and the way you carry yourself informed by your beliefs?
My self-image comes from how I feel about myself. Anything else just complicates that.
5. Do you think clothing/makeup/hair helps communicate the truth about yourself or are those things superfluous add-ons?
5. Do you think clothing/makeup/hair helps communicate the truth about yourself or are those things superfluous add-ons?
I think it's part of who I am so it definitely helps to communicate myself.
If you're interested in FBFF, go to Modly Chic for more information then e-mail Katy if you want to join the group.

I also find that little bits of my life come into my blog, even though I try pretty hard to keep it out -- my parents' closet, for example!

I agree that if women held more positions across the board in the fashion industry, the clothes might just start to reflect the body diversity among women.
Such great answers, I love these Friday posts, gives a nice insight into your mind :D

I enjoy when 'life' creeps into fashion blogs. Getting to know the blogger better helps me to understand and relate to their style. Makes it more like seeing a friends outfit than looking at a fashion magazine. More accessible.
sounds awesome, what a fun thing to be a part of !

I suck. Totally missed this FBFF post. I'm blaming it on the Shred. Love your answers though. If anyone asks I helped you come up with them.

That is definitely true about finding clothes to suit your body shape. I really struggle being short so many clothes look ridiculous on me.
Love your answers, especially #3!
Happy weekend, darling!

I really enjoyed your answer to question #3. If more women were in the industry, we would totally have better fitting clothes! Valid point. Great read, lady!
I love your answer to #4! Have a great weekend, Katie!
What wonderful, insightful questions (not to mention answers)! I so love this series!
Love your answer about feminism and a love for fashion. You're so right!
have a great weekend, sweetie :)
These are great questions! I always wonder about how much of my "real life" to share in my blog, it's constantly in the back of my mind. And I agree that clothing/makeup is part of who I am and helps one communicate themselves - great answer!

Such great answers, especially for #3 :)
Great feature and loved your answers too! Your answer to number 3 is right on the money!
I definitely agree that women would do a better job of making clothes for different shapes and body types. And maybe they would make things more consistent (between stores) too!
Your answers/ideas and inspiration are very confidente and powerful.
Loved the #3 one

What is a blog if one's personal life doesn't make it in somehow? Haha! ;)
Great answers, doll. xoxo
Your answer to #3 is so true. I know a lot of my friends feel the same way
