What I'm Wearing...

Dresses - Tucker for Target and Old Navy, Tights - Simply Vera, Shoes - Tory Burch, Necklace - Gifted, Ring - House of Harlow, Nail polish - OPI Glitzerland and Sparkle-icious

As soon as I got my hands on the Tucker dress, I wanted to wear it over another dress. (Hmm, I wonder where I got that idea?) It could be better, but I still love the idea and can't wait to figure out more ways to wear the dress.
If you follow me on Twitter, you've probably seen the drama play out throughout the day. Last night in the middle of the night, we were having a bad storm and lightning struck our house/living room/who knows. We were gone for a lot of the day, but since we've been home and Jared has been looking at it, the satellite, Wii, receiver, and TV in the living room all seem to be damaged or dead. We have home owner's insurance, and some things like the TV are under warranty, so tomorrow we'll have to make a lot of phone calls and try to map out the best way to handle everything. Because that hasn't been frustrating enough, now my BlackBerry has crashed so Jared's up trying to fix that (again. This has happened before but my contract isn't up with AT&T, so it's fix it or pay out of pocket to replace it without an upgrade.)
For all my whining and complaining I really am grateful that we're fine, the dog is fine, and the house is fine. But for the love, this has made for a frustrating day and I think there are a couple more of those in the future.
Is the saying that March comes in like a lion and goes out by giving you a massive breakdown and anxiety attack? Because that seems about right.

Love the outfit and the target dress does look great. Sorry about the Lightening, that is a bummer!! I actually have valued Property claims before at my company. Who is your carrier? My advice would be to document everything before, after, during- and hold on to any and everything that has any evidence of a transaction regarding repairs. All of that is very important when it comes to Reimbursements. Having to file an insurance claim is never fun, I hope you get a helpful adjuster!

okay first - thank God in heaven that you guys didn't get hurt and nothing lit on fire. i would have peed straight peed my pants. lightning strikes are freaking scary. we had one once when i was a kid (grew up on the prairies home of the lightning strike) and we were visiting the neighbors while my mom had coffee with the other mom. anyway while playing in the living room i totally saw the lightning zap the tv, screamed my bloody little head off and ran under the kitchen table.

scarred for life.

anyway - you are looking FABULOUS in that Tucker and girl you totally need to rock it like a light coat over layers AND over top another dress. you will pull it off beautifully!! i just love it on you and this post has singlehandedly brought a smile to my face for what feels like the first time in days.

xoxo,
carrie

We had that happen too. We found a black power strip in the office where I guess the main hit was (?) and many fried appliances. No fun. Hang in there. And that ring??? I love it.

At least you're both okay! My friend's house was struck by lightening a few years ago and it killed the tv, computer, etc. Such a pain, but the important thing is no one was hurt.

On another topic, I love the dress! I went to Target last night and they still had some remnants of the Go International collections but sadly not this Tucker, you look fabulous!

First of all, that outfit is stunning! I love the idea of wearing the Tucker dress over another one! Second, that is some crazy ish about the lightning. I'm glad y'all are all okay, but hot damn- that is insane! Today is the last day of March so hopefully April will treat you right!

I second everyone that I am SO glad you and your family are fine! But I know what a pain it is to have house damage. We lost our house in a fire four years ago and it was the scariest day of my life. Hope everything goes smoothly for you on repairs.

If it makes you feel any better, you look amazing! The tucker dress suits you very well and I just love the new hair :)

Oh no, that's terrible. I'm glad to hear you and your family, and the dog are all ok.

Situations like these definitely remind us all how very fortunate we are.

p.s. I really like your nails, and is one finger panted a different color? I love that! Cute ring, too!!

Hope you have a great day!

i'm so sorry about all of your belongings! I'm glad that everything is okay and that all of your stuff will be replaced! I like the double dress look you've got here. I bought a couple of the target designer dresses a few weeks ago, but i didn't get this one. I'm currently thinking through my wardrobe and what dress i have that buttons all the way...hmm...

Yay! So many people have this dress. I am not one of them, but it's fun to see so many bloggers styling it differently. It's a great color for you. (:

The best thing is both of you and your dog are safe. But I can imagine it will be a hassle to get things back to normal. Love the way you wore this dress. That print always looks so fresh.

I just saw on the news where lightning struck an apartment complex and sparked a fire that left 25 people homeless(we've had the same type of weather here too). Anyway, i'm happy that you're fine and the stuff that's damaged can be replaced:-). Love the Tucker dress-i just saw it over at Isabel's(walk of fashion)blog too.

That Tucker for Target dress is the cutest! Happy (early) weekend!

Torrie said...

I can't believe that lightning struck your home... That's only supposed to occur to those "other people" (on the news!), right??

Thankfully, as you said you are both safe and sound. But good luck with all of the crappy details, phone calls, and fix-its. Not fun.

On a much lighter note, you look suuuuuuper cute!! I really haven't seen you before, other than in your little profile pic... so, nice to finally meet you!! =)

Loving the outfit. It's very chic. I am not that daring when it comes to outfits, but maybe I need to step a bit out of my box. Oh my gosh I cannot believe lightening struck your house. First of all that's so crazy, at least it didn't catch your house on fire! That would have been awful. I remember when I was little the neighbors house caught on fire because of lightening, so just be thankful that you are safe and only minor things are broken. Enjoy your weekend doll.
