The Shred Crew - Level 2

weheartit
I'm not sure how calm I've been, but the other part is true...
All it took was one (massive) lightning strike, and I flew off the proverbial wagon. That's right - for several days there was no Shredding and no healthy eating. It was bad. It was brutal. There was a lot of Italian food involved. (It was good.)
This weekend I made the grueling attempt to get back on track. We did yard work for 2 days, the dog got a bath (you don't think that counts as a workout? Ok, it probably doesn't but he does put up quite a fight.), Days 9 & 10 of Level 1 of the Shred were completed. As of Sunday night I'm sore all over so I guess it's working. I do think I'm going to skip my Monday weigh-in because seeing no change (or worse, a gain) will just throw me off even more. It was a bad week, I'm getting back on track, I'll do the weigh-in next Monday and hopefully be happy with what I see.
So what's the point of this update other than outing myself for having an awful fitness week? Well now that I did the 10 days of Level 1, I see no choice but to move up to the dreaded Level 2. I only have one thing to say about that:
BustedTees

(Oh come on. You get that reference, don't you?)

Exactly.

ah, hey- it happens to the best of us! Can't get back on the horse unless you fall off of it first :) Go you for recognizing and accepting it and just moving right along... now shred it up!

Well done for getting back on the wagon! I never weigh myself - it's too depressing lol. I just exercise, eat healthily and hope for the best! ;)

i am rolling in laughter because of the "i'm so excited" saved by the bell photo~ the funny thing is, it's followed by "i'm so scared..."

can't wait to see your results!

I think it's awesome that you're getting back on the wagon and not being hard on yourself. This is about a healthy body not racing to the finish line. My fave Pilates lady always says that and it's so reassuring.

I had about 6 chocolate bars last week myself, and skipped a couple days - but I did Level 2 today. I think I injured my leg. The muscle on my right leg feels funny and I am not excited about it.

Your flower beds look awesome - all that bending and lifting is a total core workout, girl!

Carrie

Don't beat yourself up girl! By the way the Jesse Spano reference made my day - LOL!!! The cheese factor was higher than usual with that episode (she was just overacting to prepare for the role of her life in "Showgirls" - gah!)

Ok Katie I used to believe in the first quote but seriously I have gained a few and need to seriously hit the gym and get back into shape.

Good luck on level 2, you will rock it. We all fall off the wagon, as long as we climb back in, that's what matters. I say this in light if the large piece of chocolate cake I ate this weekend ;)

"Falling off the wagon" is my middle name. I refuse to start diets unless they are on a Monday (start the week off right ya know)...and then by Monday afternoon, it's broken and I have to wait until next Monday.

I totally sympathize about giving the dog a bath...it is BEYOND a workout. I don't get it with mine..he loves water when he is outside trying to scare ducks out of a pond...but won't patiently let me clean him!? UGH.

You'll get back on track :-) I gave up soda and Red Bulls starting today (oh yes...Red Bull can be an addiction) so I will be right along side with you! Good luck :-)

Oh man, that was the best SBTB episode EVER!! I love that she went from normal to addict to recovery all in like 22 minutes. A star was born that day....... the kind of star that goes on to do Showgirls.

I fell off the wagon for 2 weeks thanks to 3 conferences and getting back on was a pain. Kudos to you for picking yourself back up. I feel your pain- I've been to a week and a half of boxing classes and I feel like I'm gonna die..... but I love it!

I opted against a weigh-in this morning too. I spent the weekend with friends, and we indulged. I'm not going to feel bad about that. But I am going to get back to work this week.

Sorry to hear that you fell off the wagon - but it's good to hear that you've picked yourself up and dusted yourself off, so to speak. And I actually find level 2 of the Shred to be the easiest of the three so maybe it won't be so terrible.

I love that quote, I used to reenact it with girlfriends over and over in highschool! We would die laughing!

And girl you have every right not to be on a wagon lf any kind last week...and who cares what the number reads it is about how you feel. Now i took time off too, i am hopping back on....i need to get more serious and reason and i will skip...i am actually better when i do it first thing, but there is no way im setting the alarm clock for before 6 to do it before work!

I'm trying to eat healthy for my wedding and fell off the wagon this past weekend. No worries love, you just have to get back on and get back on track. That's all that matters.

Love the Saved by the Bell reference. ;)

Totally happens to us all! Actually fell off the wagon a bit myself this weekend and didn't dare step on the scale today. It's ok, it'll come off eventually :)

Good luck, sweetie!

Hey, best of luck to you! Know that we'll all cheer you on (though I do support the occasional Italian food delight, too...) as you continue toward success. (:

Psst--I'm over at Just Take a Bow.

I'd do the the same thing. No worries. Just get started again! You can do it!! Level two is definitely intense, but it's all worth it. Also, I love Saved By the Bell. I've literally seen every episode...probably twice.

Falling off the wagon is SOO normal! I'm a personal trainer and even I fall off the wagon! (like the cadbury mini eggs I had yesterday for example! LOL) I'm actually going to do a fitness post closer to the end of the week.
Just dust yourself off and get back in the game girl! You can do it!
