What I'm Loving...

Obviously what I'm loving most this week is that college football season kicks off on Saturday, but I assume everyone is excited about that. Ok, maybe it's not everyone. But I know some of you are!
Here's what I'm loving:

Probably my favorite App on my iPhone so far. It's so addictive! Go follow me on there :)

Slatkin & Co. Pomegranate Lemonade Candle
As much as I'm looking forward to fall scented candles and tarts, this has been perfect for the end of summer. Not that hot weather will be leaving AL anytime soon...

A couple of weeks ago we watched Limitless OnDemand. Watching movies OnDemand in your living room whenever you feel like it = awesome. Watching movies with Bradley Cooper = even better.

Keane - A Bad Dream
I wake up, it's a bad dream,
No one on my side,
I was fighting
But I just feel too tired
to be fighting,
guess I'm not the fighting kind.
For a song that seems like it should be completely depressing, somehow it's not. And that's pretty genius.

Ok, so that's What I'm Loving right now! What about you?

Vegas - Day to Night Outfit

Tunic - Old Navy, Jeans - Old Navy, Shoes - Tory Burch, Belt - Limited, Earrings - Melinda Maria, Bracelets, Chan Luu, Ring - House of Harlow,  Nail polish - Essie Smooth Sailing and Milani Gems

This is actually a dress, but I had a picture up on my inspiration board of a tunic in this color worn over jeans, so I yanked it up, belted it, and turned it into a tunic. Easy enough.

This day we went to lunch and were somewhat close to the Hard Rock so we went in there to walk around (and take pictures of random things like outfits Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani wore). Then, in the back there was the "confessional" from the Real World Las Vegas, so I decided to take a picture. Yeah, it turns out it's not the Real World Las Vegas I watched. They made another one apparently. Who knew? (Probably everyone. I'm old.)

Earrings - Express, Leggings - Express, Shoes - White House Black Market, Bracelet - House of Harlow, Clutch - Curly in the City

I made a few changes to the outfit before we went out to dinner. I'm not sure which way I like better. Maybe the 2nd?

After dinner we walked around the Miracle Mile shops, then walked back to the Venetian. PS - nothing is close together on the Strip, even if it looks like it is. I was tired the next day! The pool would have been nice except it was 110 every day. Also, my camera appears to be dying a slow death.

Vegas - Recovery & Recap (The Beginning)

Instagram pic from when we landed in Las Vegas (which I noticed has the location tagged as Orlando. Um... interesting?)

I'm back! Why is it so exhausting to get back from vacation? Who knows. I'm trying to catch up, but in the meantime here's our first day in Vegas:
Really, really early in the morning when my parents dropped us off at the airport.
Picture from the airplane. (I'm easily amused. It's not like you get to see Lake Mead or the Grand Canyon from a plane window everyday, though. I don't, anyway.)
Gotta do a little gambling as soon as you get to a casino. (See the machine? Penny slots. That's mostly what we played. Pretty crazy, I know.)
Our suite at The Venetian. When we checked in, the guy saw that we were from Alabama and asked Jared which team he's for. Apparently the guy was a big college football fan, and when Jared said we're Bama fans he upgraded our suite for us, lol. Nice way to start the trip! (Roll Tide.)
No, I don't normally wear sunglasses inside but my eye was an incredible mess after the flight.
Some pictures I took while we were walking on the strip the first night.

Since we were gone for 6 days, and I took 2 outfits for each day, plus all the regular vacation pictures - there are a ton. I'll have a few outfit posts with some random Vegas pictures mixed in, but don't worry, you'll mostly be spared from the touristy madness :)

Goodbye To Summer

With summer coming to an end (and feeling like I got cheated out of mine since we had to skip the beach for me to have surgery), I decided to cram a whole lot of summer into last week.

I wore wedges and carried summer purses (2 different ones last week)

I did lots of cleaning and organizing around the house that lead to everyone finishing up projects that hadn't been completed. (August is totally helping Jared here. Promise. Oh, and this particular project was taking wine corks that Jared had been saving and turning them into a cork board. Dream big, kids.)

I wore more wedges, and accessories that either haven't been worn or have been neglected lately. This day I also wore my linen blazer that I haven't worn all year over a pink dress that's been hanging in the closet all summer and changed shoes later in the day into a pair of never worn sandals. It was kind of like a kid trying to wear as many things at once as they can. Actually, I was that kid now that I think about it. I guess nothing has changed...

I got one more pedicure in with Chanel Mimosa. I certainly don't buy into wearing certain nail colors at certain times, but I know I'll be wanting to dig into all my plums and greige (it's a word) polishes soon, so it's bound to be awhile before colors like this get worn again.

So why was I in such a hurry to fit summer in when it's still a million degrees here in Alabama? Well, we get back from Vegas it'll be Saturday the 27th. The rest of the weekend will be unpacking and resting. Then I'm sure you all know what the next weekend is... season.
See? That's another thing I did. Decorated for football season. Roll Tide.

Summer's over, kids.

Closet Clean Out Win. Or Fail.

Less than a week before we were leaving for Vegas I decided I needed a new dress for our anniversary. It was too soon to order online unless I did overnight shipping, so I spent a good part of 2 days out looking for something.
I bought a tunic, a pair of shoes, a camisole, 4 bracelets, nail polish, and some new luggage.
No dress.
(The shoes are pretty awesome though, right? Yeah.)
Friday night when I was on Round 2 of pulling random things out of the closet I might want to take with me, I noticed something about the dresses I already have.
I've never worn a lot of them.
After trying on 4 (yes 4, I'll admit it) dresses with the tags still on them, I decided that one of the brand new dresses I already owned would work instead of buying another new dress for the occasion.
Yeah, so I'm not really sure if this a step in the right direction or not. Ultimately I found something I already had instead of adding to the collection of clothes I've never worn, but it sure was a difficult process getting there.
The new shoes are going to look great with the dress, though.
(I'm not making any progress, am I?)

Instagram Pictures

Instagram is definitely my favorite app on my iPhone so far. Here's a few pictures I've taken:

August having a lazy day. In other words - every day.

Nail polishes I hadn't used yet

August being dramatic and hiding

Trying out OPI's Silver Shatter

My Mom and I sorted my Mimi's fine china one day. Pretty interesting.

Here are the pieces I brought back to my house. I also brought a platter (one of 4 she had) but it won't fit in my china cabinet.

On August 19th, it was 6 years since we lost my Mimi. This is one of my favorite pictures with her and my grandfather.

I finally went to American Eagle and stocked up on the buy 1, get 1 half off deal on all the bracelets I'm obsessed with!
