Friend Friday
The Fashion Beauty Friend Friday group was created by Katy over at Modly Chic. For the first and third week of each month Katy puts together a set of questions and on Friday if you want to participate, you answer them on your blog and link back up at Modly Chic. On the other weeks, FBFF will be doing a Visual Friend Friday.
This week, we're supposed to share the one piece of advice that has made a difference in our life.

When I sat down to think about this FBFF topic, I realized I don't have one piece of advice that someone's given me that I always live by. I certainly make an effort to surround myself with people who's ideas and opinions I respect and take into account, but there's not any singular piece of advice that I always refer back to and I definitely don't make decisions based on what makes the most sense.
If I had listened to what anyone in my life had to say 7 years ago, I would have never even started dating Jared, much less ended up married to him.
If I'd done what was most logical, I would have gone back to a full-time job after I got married instead of going back to college and finishing my degree.
If I hadn't kept making doctor's appointments because I knew something was wrong, I wouldn't have found out I have MS as soon as I did.
So I guess that would mean my piece of advice is
don't listen.
Get opinions, take into consideration what the people close to you have to say, but in the end - trust your gut and do what you want to do.
If you're interested in FBFF, go to Modly Chic for more information then e-mail Katy if you want to join the group.

Seems like your advice is more listen to your heart and trust yourself. That is a lovely idea to live by!
It is so true though! Sometimes it is good to listen to others but really all that matters is you and your thoughts :)

I personally think that's pretty genius advice...

Good point- I think we should always be open to what others say, but in the end we have to listen to ourselves. Our inner voice usually leads us down the right paths.
I like your advice Katie! I think I'm going to live by that! :)
Have a great weekend :) xoxo
This is wonderful advice-I was just thinking about how John and I have done everything "wrong", and we couldn't be happier.
Very true, your inner voice always knows best! Happy weekend! xo -Taj
I have been reading your blog for a while (love it).... and this is probably my favorite post to date. Bravo! Lindsay
I tried to think of the one piece of advice for me but I couldn't come up with much... other than a quote I stumbled onto awhile ago "life is about creating yourself" :-)
Have opinions. <3
Love Grace.
So wise. Thank you my dear friend for being always there.

This is great advice, Katie! I agree, some of the best decisions I've made were because I ignored other peoples' advice and followed my heart.
I love all of that advice! Hope you guys had a great weekend!
I'm the same way ... I don't have one piece of advice, either. I kind of make things up as I go along. I know what is right -- at the time, anyway. I go with my heart and my head. However things play out is how they play out. That's really all that you can do.

Sounds like a good piece of advice. Getting a second opinion is so worth it
It is good to listen to others, but really what matters most is what you think yourself, I love this advice.
