Friend Friday - Thankful

Friend Friday
The Fashion Beauty Friend Friday group was created by Katy over at Modly ChicFor the first and third week of each month Katy puts together a set of questions and on Friday if you want to participate, you answer them on your blog and link back up at Modly ChicOn the other weeks, FBFF will be doing a Visual Friend Friday.

This week since it's the week before Thanksgiving, we're listing what we are most thankful for right now.

we♥it
When I was in the hospital for the last eye surgery I had to go over my medications with everyone there. No one, even most doctors or people in the medical profession, recognizes the name of my infusion drug so I always have to spell it out and explain why I take it. Once I'd done that for the anesthesiologist and he realized I was taking it because it treats both MS and Crohn's (since I have both) he said "So are you able to live a normal life?" I've been asked variations of that question before and it borderline offends me. Why wouldn't I have a normal life? (And what is normal, anyway?) Yes, I have more doctors appointments than an average 20 something. Yes, I value and use my health insurance more than an average, well, person. There have been plenty of things in the past couple of years that weren't all that fun, but I have never not considered my life to be normal.

So, I am most thankful for my normal, every day, generic, boring life - even if it seems abnormal to other people :)

If you're interested in FBFF, go to Modly Chic for more information then e-mail Katy if you want to join the group.

I know what you mean, my little cousin was diagnosed with Crohns a few years ago and everyone always treats her differently. But I think she's finally getting back to "normal" where people forget she has it.

I had no idea that you had these health problems, and now I feel like we are destined to be besties. I know exactly how you feel -- I am thankful every single day for my normal, boring, everyday life. I have way more doctors' appointments than an average 20-something. Having a severe health condition definitely affects the way you view the world, and being diagnosed with liver disease at the age of 19 will do that to you.
