Half Moon Mani

After seeing a Sephora ad featuring a half moon manicure, and seeing it on a few blogs I decided I had to try it myself. Unfortunately trying to free hand it just made a big mess. I know taping it off would be an easy solution, but I wish I could just do it. Any tips? Practice more? Give up?

Anyone else tried or want to try this?

I think it's such a chic look but I honestly have NO idea how to achieve it.

I did this last year using a tutorial from the Cherry Blossom Girl!! :) You use those circular paper reinforcers, cut them in half and stick them on your fingers to get the half circle :)

I just know I would mess it up royally...my left hand is pretty much useless. Maybe I'll rope my helpmeet into helping...

I tried this once. It was an epic failure. I couldn't even take pictures of it because it was so bad.

I've heard taping is the best way to achieve it but I haven't tried it myself. Good luck and have a great weekend! xoxo

i've had the exact same realization about this. what kind of tape does one use? that's what stopped me before.

Maybe try it with one of those nail polish pens? Or just apply it slowly? Haha, I would make a mess myself.

Props to you for even TRYING it free hand! I would say tape is the way to go (at least for me).
